Youth Increasingly Consume Holocaust Disinformation
A NOS Stories investigation revealed that Holocaust disinformation is circulating among nearly all secondary schools in the Netherlands. Students are reportedly encountering social media claims that the death toll of 6 million Jews during World War II was actually only a few hundred thousand. Teachers are also encountering AI-generated images of historical events brought in by students. The disinformation is attributed to social media platforms. This disinformation is found on platforms like TikTok and other social media, often from 'talking heads' presenting factually incorrect information.
