Comedian Advocates For Arts Council Funding
A comedian is campaigning for inclusion in Arts Council of Ireland funding after securing 1,400 petition signatures. The comedian stated that comedians are currently excluded from Arts Council of Ireland funding and Culture Ireland support for international opportunities. This advocacy follows a pulse check of the arts sector initiated three years ago by Sinn Féin Deputy Angus O'Snaill. The movement seeks to provide comedians with the same funding access as musicians, actors, or theatre groups.
