Mainland Tourists Exceed 208,000 During Golden Week
A radio host is concluding their final segment on a Chinese culture program at RTHK Radio 1 Hong Kong after more than ten years. Over 253,000 people passed through Hong Kong ports by 10:00 AM during the five-day Labor Day Golden Week. Mainland Chinese travelers accounted for 76,000 out of 100,000 total arrivals in Hong Kong. Over 280,000 mainland Chinese travelers entered Hong Kong through various immigration checkpoints as of Thursday afternoon. Over 208,000 mainland Chinese travelers have entered Hong Kong via various ports of entry as of Thursday. Large numbers of travelers from mainland China arrived at West Kowloon Station via high-speed rail to begin the five-day May Day Golden Week holiday. Some travelers plan to spend several days in Hong Kong, while others from Guangdong are making day trips.
