Nikolai Kosatkin Art Exhibition Opens In Moscow
The State Historical Museum will present an exhibition dedicated to Soviet artist Vera Muhina on May 20. The exposition marks the centenary of the first exhibition of the Society of Russian Sculptors, which was held in the museum's halls in 1926. The display will feature key works by Muhina from various years. The exhibition highlights the artist's use of allegory and classical balance in her creative method. The exhibition features architectural designs inspired by classical antiquity and the Renaissance. It will include unique photographic chronicles of the Soviet pavilion from the 1937 Paris World Exhibition. The exhibition is scheduled to run until August 17. The exposition includes over 30 graphic works spanning from the 1960s to the 2000s. The collection utilizes various techniques including linocut and pastel on paper and cardboard.
