Eutin City Council Approves Music Festival Expansion
The Eutin city administration decided yesterday evening to implement a rescue plan for the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival (SHMF). The plan aims to maintain programming on the Seebühne stage over the next three years, including scenic productions such as music theater. This follows the unexpected cancellation of the upcoming season which originally featured opera and musicals. Mayor Sven Radestock stated the partnership is for the cultural status of Eutin and for local businesses, including restaurants and cafes. This follows a period where the festival's managing director reported a decline in revenue compared to the previous year. The festival will transition from opera and musicals to a concert summer format. Starting in 2027, the schedule includes 34 annual events.
