Sheep Parade Held In Zakopane
The traditional redyk sheep herding event is returning to the center of Zakopane after several years of absence. The city of Zakopane will organize its first 'Wiosen Redyk' sheep parade through the city center. Nearly 250 sheep are expected to participate in the procession. The event is part of a series of tourist attractions including jazz events and a vintage car parade. Hundreds of sheep will participate in a traditional 'redyk' procession through the center of Zakopane. Mayor Łukasz Filipowicz stated the event marks the first spring redyk in the city's history. The procession is scheduled to take place on May 2nd. A shepherd will lead the flock accompanied by local highlanders. A sheep parade took place in Zakopane near Giewont. The event attracted hundreds of spectators and featured approximately 300 sheep on the streets.
