Two Police Officers Shot At Chicago Hospital
An incident occurred at Swedish hospital in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood where a prisoner managed to obtain a gun and shoot two officers. An SUV collided with a patrol car after running a red light at the intersection of Ida B. Wells and Wabash. Both officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV was arrested after attempting to flee the scene. Witnesses reported the incident occurred before a vehicle fled the scene. Law enforcement officials have apprehended a person of interest in connection with the attack. A shooting occurred inside Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital in Lincoln Square just before 11 a.m. One victim died following the incident, while another remains in critical condition at Illinois Masonic Hospital. Mayor Brandon Johnson and CPD Superintendent Larry Snelling addressed the media near the hospital at 4 p.m.
