California Man Arrested After White House Banquet Shooting

The Secret Service and FBI have initiated a joint investigation following a shooting incident involving a 31-year-old male suspect from California. Federal and local law enforcement agencies are conducting a joint investigation into the targeting of a Trump administration official. Once a determination is made regarding the nature of the targeting, the case may be transferred to the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C. Don Mahalik, a retired Secret Service agent, is contributing to the law enforcement analysis of the case. The attack is being analyzed as a premeditated act potentially linked to Israel-Iran tensions. The incident occurred on the evening of April 25, less than 30 minutes after President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump entered the venue. One individual sustained serious injuries during the shooting, though their condition is currently reported as good. A 31-year-old engineer from California was arrested following a shooting at a White House Correspondents' Association banquet. The suspect reportedly carried multiple weapons and forced his way past security checkpoints before being apprehended by Secret Service personnel. Suspect identified as Cole Thomas Allen, a 31-year-old teacher from Torrance, California. Allen previously received a Teacher of the Month award in December 2024.
