Israeli Navy Controls Gaza Fishing Waters
The Israeli Navy reportedly contacted ships via radio regarding a blockade. They are currently using separate clean water for drinking and hygiene purposes. The group has prepared life jackets and fruit knives for defense if approached. The flotilla includes 345 participants from 39 different countries. A commentator described the action as a version of piracy in international waters occurring hundreds of miles from occupied territories. Some boats from the Sumud Flotilla are continuing their journey off the coast of Crete despite recent interventions. Recent maps have also raised questions regarding Israeli military control within the Gaza Strip. An expanded no-go zone, marked by an orange line, has been established to coordinate international humanitarian aid movements with the military.
