Drone Activity Prompts F-16 Scramble Near Romania
Two F-16 fighter jets from the Air Force Police service took off from Fetești Air Base around 1:10 AM following reports of 15 drones hitting the Port of Ismail. The National Military Command Center requested the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations to issue a Ro-Alert message to the population in Tulcea County. Radars at Sol tracked the movement of the aircraft. Two F-16 aircraft scrambled from Fetești Air Base around 01:10 following the tracking of drones near the border. The incident occurred in the Tulcea region. Radar systems at Sol tracked the aircraft during the response. F-16 pilots reported multiple explosions on the Ukrainian side of the border near Tulcea county. Radar at Sol tracked two aircraft repairs, and eight drones reportedly hit the Izmail locality in Ukraine. No radar signals were detected within Romanian national airspace during the incident.
