Police Dismantle Illegal Mining Units In Antioquia
The military intervened two illegal mining camps belonging to the Gulf Clan in the Al Porvenir district of San Luis, Antioquia. The operation resulted in the neutralization of two excavators. The camps were located in the eastern region of Antioquia. Police dismantled two illegal mining production units in the El Prodigio rural area of San Luis, Antioquia. The operation, named Operation EFESTO, was led by the Carabineros and Environmental Protection Section. Two excavators worth more than 1 billion pesos were seized during the operation. Colonel Luis Muñoz, commander of the Antioquia police, confirmed the details of the crackdown on illicit mining.
