US Blockade Prevents Iranian Oil Tankers From Departing Ports
The US Department of Defense conducted a maritime interception operation against the Majestic Exo, an Iranian oil tanker, in the Indian Ocean. The ship reportedly departed from the Iranian islands near the strait and headed toward the Gulf of Oman. Following the interception, the vessel was forced to return toward the Iranian coast. A United States Navy destroyer intercepted an Iranian-flagged oil tanker. No specific location for the interception was provided in the report. The US Central Command announced that the guided-missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta intercepted the MT Stream oil tanker on April 26. US Central Command released photos on social media confirming the interception of the vessel. Bloomberg previously reported monitoring these specific tanker activities via satellite.
