developing SWR Aktuell Pirmasens 14d10d Impact 8
A soldier is accused of severe deprivation of liberty and torturing 115 people during interrogations. The alleged torture methods included electric shocks and beatings with cables. At least 70 prisoners reportedly died due to the torture and inhumane detention conditions. The accused soldier, who arrived in Germany in 2023, was arrested in May 2025 in Pirmasens. He did not comment on the allegations on the first day of his trial. A detainee identified as Khalid Al-Haboud claims he was tortured by the RSF. He stated his hands were tied behind his back and he was dragged over a field by a motorcycle, after which he lost consciousness. He is currently in intensive care at a hospital and shows deformed ribs.
