French General Leclerc Avoids Paris During Military Campaign
General Leclerc was instructed to bypass Paris during a military campaign. The objective was to end the war as quickly as possible, not to occupy capitals. Taking Paris would have complicated the supply of the population. Leclerc stated he could not assist with matters concerning Paris.
