H.G. Wells Novel Inspired Atomic Bomb Development
On August 6 and 9, 1945, atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This event brought an abrupt end to the Second World War and resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people. The bombings initiated what some now refer to as the atomic war.
