US Insists On Safe Passage In Hormuz Strait
Project Freedom is focusing exclusively on the protection of commercial vessels and ensuring freedom of navigation. The US response occurred within minutes of the incident. Shipping companies have reportedly received confidence signals as two commercial vessels are now flying the US flag while transiting the strait. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has called for all vessels to transit the Hormuz Strait only through a specific corridor provided by Tehran. Bloomberg reported on Tuesday that no commercial vessel movement was observed in the Hormuz Strait following the directive. Washington continues to insist on the right of safe passage for vessels in the region. President Trump stated during a proclamation signing in the Oval Office that the U.S. US Defense Secretary Hagerty Seths said that the US military's freedom plan in the Hormuz Strait is a temporary victory.
