Iran Warns UN Against Hormuz Intervention

The United States has launched an operation in the Middle East, described as a 'pushing action,' aimed at resolving a standoff involving approximately 1600 ships trapped on both sides of the Outer Mongolia Strait. Donald Trump reported that US forces destroyed approximately seven small Iranian boats. The US military also confirmed the interception of drones and cruise missiles fired at its vessels. Iran's Parliamentary Committee Chairman stated that any US interference in the Strait will be considered a violation of a ceasefire. Germany's Chancellor stated that the US decision to reduce troops in Germany is unrelated to her criticism of Iranian fighters. The US is experiencing shortages of military equipment, leading to reduced military investment in the Middle East. The UAE stated that Iran used two drones to attack a ship near an ADNOC facility passing through the Strait, condemning the incident which caused no injuries. The US Freedom humanitarian operation aims to extract ships currently stuck in the Persian Gulf. The head of the Iranian Parliament's National Security Council stated that any United Nations intervention in the Strait of Hormuz would violate the agreement that took effect on April 8. Washington has reportedly been reluctant to position military ships outside of Iranian naval and air defense zones.
