Seven Arrested Following Ankara Shooting

A woman was detained by police following a fatal shooting in the 100 block of South 6th Street. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of April 21st in Lawrenceville. Edwards told police she fired her weapon because she believed the man was running at her with a weapon. A court hearing for Edwards is scheduled for next month. The incident occurred during the night of April 22. Masked attackers on a motorcycle conducted reconnaissance of the street two days prior to the shooting. The assailants opened fire on a victim, Erdal Polat, while he was watching a match with friends. The attackers used handguns and wore masks to avoid identification. Police arrested seven suspects following a shooting incident in Ankara. Authorities seized one motorcycle, two handguns, several magazines, and numerous cartridges at the scene. Investigators are currently determining if the attackers were hired hitmen or if there was an orchestrator behind the event. The motive and the primary target of the shooting remain under investigation.
