US Urges Increased Traffic Through Hormuz Strait
The United States has blocked Iranian vessels from departing from the Port of Hormuz. The Iran International broadcast noted that the Strait of Hormuz is an international maritime route and said the need to ensure freedom of navigation in international waters. The report mentioned that the United States has held responsibility for managing international maritime security from the Cold War to the present day. The US President's speech indicated a choice between unattainable military action and a bad deal with Iran, limiting US decision-making space. Iran has reportedly abandoned some previous conditions and agreed to include issues concerning the Strait of Hormuz in negotiations with the United States. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that the US has responded to Iran's 14-point proposal via Pakistan, and Iran is reviewing the response.
