US Reviews New Iranian Peace Proposal
A CNN report on May 1 indicated that at least 16 US military facilities in eight Middle Eastern countries have been damaged since military actions against Iran began, with some facilities rendered unusable. Reports from Tasnim and Fars news agencies indicate Tehran is maintaining its stance on delaying nuclear file discussions. This position has been communicated by nearly all Iranian officials to various media outlets. Iran has linked the opening of the Hormuz Strait to US commitments, demanding payment from ships and impacting China's oil trade. The Strait of Hormuz has become effectively blocked, leading to the first import of Russian crude oil since the blockage. Iran has submitted a new proposal totaling 14 points aimed at ending the war and is awaiting a formal response from the United States.
