JR Tokaido Line Train Delays Due to Safety Check
Police issued an arrest warrant for 47-year-old Nobuaki Takahashi on suspicion of murder. A driver was arrested before a train derailed on the JR Yokosuka Line at the Hodogaya Station crossing in Kanagawa Prefecture. A vehicle entered a railroad crossing in the Yokosuka Line area, causing a derailment on the JR Tokaido Line. The incident caused disruptions to local rail services. The incident caused delays for southbound trains traveling between Tokyo and Hiratsuka stations. The derailment occurred at a crossing near Narahashi, resulting in a 1-kilometer blockage. Additional 500-meter delays are reported at the Yukiya Bridge and Taiko-e Bridge. National Route 1 also experienced a 1.5-kilometer disruption near Yumoto in Hakone Town. JR Tokaido Line services are experiencing partial delays between Kawasaki and Yokohama stations.
