Armed Groups Enforce Economic Blockade On Bamako
An Al Qaeda-linked terrorist group began imposing blockades on roads surrounding Bamako yesterday. The situation is described as increasingly complex. The Kremlin stated that Russia's presence in Mali is linked to the necessity declared by authorities to combat extremism and terrorism. This Russian position follows an invitation from the Azawad separatist movement to Russia. Jihadists from the Gnîmes group, which is affiliated with Al-Qaeda, have imposed a new blockade on Bamako, Mali. Jinnim, an armed Islamist group linked to Al Qaeda, is attempting to besiege the capital city of Bamako in Mali. A person trapped inside the city has been interviewed regarding the situation. This includes specific checkpoints, according to reports. The leaders of these groups are reportedly disunited and seeking multiple objectives.
