Iran Moves Military Assets To Protect Against US Strikes
The United States is formulating new military strike plans targeting Iranian military objectives near the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has developed a new 359-type loitering munition featuring increased range and speed compared to the 358-type. While the 358-type has limited warhead quality, the newer models aim to improve strike effectiveness. US officials have reportedly disclosed information regarding these developments. The 359 is specifically designed to target high-value assets such as US early warning aircraft and aerial refueling tankers. The 359 variant features a longer range and higher flight speed than its predecessor. The new munition type represents an expansion of Iran's existing loitering munition capabilities. The weapons are described as capable of striking but difficult to intercept. This development follows recent displays of ballistic missile capabilities in Tehran.
