Bus Bombing Kills 14 in Southwestern Colombia
President Gustavo Petro attributed recent violence in the Cauca department to terrorists and drug smugglers. Authorities are working to identify the perpetrators and the specific motive behind the attack. The Colombian Army commander confirmed the blast occurred during a press conference. In the last two days alone, 26 attacks have been registered in the region, including coordinated drone attacks on air traffic control. At least 13 people died in a bus bombing in the Gauka region. Dozens of others were injured, including several children. President Guss Avopetro blamed Farkeria dissidents for the wave of violence linked to strategic smuggling routes. Armed groups linked to drug trafficking are currently fighting for control in the area. Regional governments are requesting increased national army support ahead of presidential elections.
