Car Explodes Near Belfast Police Station
A vehicle exploded in front of a police station in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Authorities conducted several searches as part of an investigation into attempted murder. The group warned that additional attacks may follow. A 66-year-old man, identified as Amman, is scheduled to appear before magistrates in Belfast tomorrow. The arrest follows a car explosion outside a police station near Belfast on Tuesday. Amman was detained in Dunn-Murray under the Terrorism Act. A five-year suspended sentence was given for defrauding the health service executive of over 84,000 euros. The car exploded outside Dunmerry PSNI station last Saturday night after a hijacked delivery driver was forced to bring it there. Residents were cleared from their homes before the device, comprised of a gas cylinder, exploded. Kieran Smith of Beachmount Avenue, Belfast, appeared at Lisburn Magistrates' Court today.
